Delightful cinnamon rolls infused with crushed Oreo cookies for a fun twist on a classic treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it foams up.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
  3. Combine wet ingredients: Add the melted butter and the egg into the yeast mixture. Whisk well until combined.
  4. Knead the dough: Once it starts to come together, knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. First rise: Place your dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  6. Prepare the filling: Crush the Oreo cookies and mix them with a dash of cinnamon.
  7. Roll out the dough: Once your dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out to about a rectangle shape.
  8. Spread the filling: Sprinkle the crushed Oreos evenly over the dough, then fold it over and press gently.
  9. Form the rolls: Start from one long end, roll the dough tightly into a log.
  10. Slice the rolls: Use a sharp knife or dental floss to slice the log into about 12 pieces.
  11. Second rise: Cover the rolls again with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  12. Preheat the oven: While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  13. Bake the rolls: Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
  14. Prep the frosting: Beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until fluffy, then stir in the heavy cream.
  15. Frost and serve: Spread the frosting on top of the warm rolls.
