Maple Glazed Apple Blondies

Delicious and chewy blondies infused with fresh apples and topped with a rich maple glaze.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 large apples (chopped finely)
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar (for apples)
  • 1 Tbsp butter (for apples)
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a medium bowl.
  4. Cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and dark brown sugar together until fluffy.
  5. Beat in the two eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  6. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Fold in the finely chopped apples into your batter.
  8. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet, add the chopped apples, and sprinkle with brown sugar. Cook for 3-4 minutes and let cool.
  9. Spread the blondie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  11. Whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon for the glaze.
  12. Let the blondies cool for about 10 minutes, then drizzle the maple glaze on top.

Notes

For a nutty addition, fold in chopped walnuts or pecans into the batter. Store leftover blondies in an airtight container for up to a week.
