Homemade Fresh Nectarine Crumble

A delightful combination of sweet nectarines and a crunchy brown sugar oat topping, perfect for summer gatherings.

  • 56 medium fresh nectarines (about 2 pounds / 900g)
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar (65g)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (30ml)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour (25g)
  • 1 cup rolled oats (90g)
  • ⅓ cup packed brown sugar (70g)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cubed (85g)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the nectarines by washing and slicing into wedges, then placing in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix the sliced nectarines with granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and flour. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  4. Prepare the topping by mixing oats, brown sugar, flour, and salt in another bowl; then incorporate the cold butter until crumbly.
  5. Assemble the crumble in a greased baking dish by spreading the nectarines and topping them with the oat mixture.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
