Grilled Chicken with Cherry Dr Pepper BBQ Sauce

A succulent grilled chicken recipe glazed with a sweet and tangy Cherry Dr Pepper BBQ sauce, perfect for gatherings.

  • 4 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Cherry Dr Pepper
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by rinsing and patting dry, then seasoning with salt and pepper.
  2. Make the Cherry Dr Pepper BBQ sauce by combining Cherry Dr Pepper, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder in a saucepan over medium heat, then simmer.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Grill the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side, brushing sauce on both sides.
  5. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving with additional BBQ sauce.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add cayenne or hot sauce to the BBQ sauce. This recipe is versatile and can be made using a slow cooker.
