Ghost Pancakes

Delightfully spooky pancakes perfect for Halloween gatherings or fun family breakfasts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup milk (or almond milk for dairy-free)
  • 1 egg (or flax egg for vegan option)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
  • Whipped cream for decoration
  • Chocolate chips for spooky eyes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the batter: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In another bowl, beat the egg, then add the milk and melted butter. Blend until well combined.
  3. Combine mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined.
  4. Heat your skillet: Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it.
  5. Cook the pancakes: Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles form, about 2-3 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Create the ghosts: Once cooked, pipe whipped cream on top to create ghost shapes. Use chocolate chips for eyes.
  7. Serve and enjoy: Stack pancakes on a festive plate and add maple syrup or powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free flour blend. Fresh whipped cream enhances presentation, so whip it just before serving.
