Winter Spiced Orange Jam

A cozy and flavorful jam made with winter oranges and warm spices, perfect for breakfast or gifting.

Ingredients

  • 68 ripe oranges
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prep the oranges by washing, zesting, peeling and slicing into segments.
  2. Juicing the lemon and set it aside.
  3. Combine ingredients in a large pot: orange segments, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt, and water.
  4. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to medium-low.
  5. Simmer the mixture for about 30-35 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens.
  6. Jar the jam into sterilized jars and seal.
  7. Seal the jars and process them in a boiling water bath for about 10 minutes.
  8. Cooling down, let the jars cool completely on a clean towel for a few hours.

Notes

This recipe generally fills about 4 pint-sized jars. Perfect for sharing or hoarding!
