Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 large oranges
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  7. Combine 2 cups sugar and 2 cups water in a pot. Bring to a simmer until sugar dissolves.
  8. Add the blanched orange peels and let them cook for about an hour until translucent.
  9. Remove the peels using a slotted spoon and lay them flat on a wire rack to cool.
  10. Toss in sugar if desired while still slightly sticky, then dry completely.
